According to the social norms of preschool, for a long time a parent accompanies their child on play dates. It's a usually a fun tradition as you get to see your child around her peers plus some chatting time with another grown-up. If the other mother has the personality of a wet mop or the other child channels the Bad Seed..well, not so much fun (thankfully,we haven't experienced many bad dates).

But there comes a time when the custom states your child can attend play dates by herself. So you wait anxiously for the arrival or pickup time to find out if your child behaved or fibbed about you (one child told me her mom never let her play with blocks) and then get pieces of what occurred. Some moms send photos so you can see what's happening.

And the photos are always appreciated! It's nice to see your child so well-liked and welcome in other people's homes. I guess Matt and I did something right!
