We've been talking to Lucy about moving for awhile. She's been to the new house several times, watched the men climb ladders to paint and hang things, read a book written by her own guru "MistaRogers" (one word) about what to expect, so she was all prepped the day the men came to pack up all her stuff the day before the move. She actually quite liked the climbing structure the boxes made.

The next day, Lucy and Mommy headed to Hawaii for our annual trip while sainted Daddy actually moved (assisted by the equally sainted Sarah L.) I think Lucy thought we were moving to the ocean.

Which she actually seemed quite content with. And once Matt came, Hawaii really was paradise to her. Round the clock playdates with cousin Jack? Check. Mommy and Daddy sleeping in her same room? Check. Gwinny and Pop there to applaud every single utterance? Check. A whole host of big kids to chase after? Check. Sand to rub in her hair? Check. Uncle Adam and Aunt 'Twaci' to carry her everywhere? Check. I actually worried that the new house was going to pale in comparison.
But once we came home, and she saw all her books and loved items carefully put away by Daddy and Sarah ("Lucy's sheep here!!!") it seemed like home. Just without the excitement of a Hawaiian vacation. But isn't that what home is?
