Clever Girl!

For weeks, Lucy has shown no interest in crawling. She can sort of scoot in a circle but other than that, she is perfectly content to either sit or just lay on her tummy. After reading numerous articles on how to encourage your child to encourage to crawl, I decided on the tactic that seemed to be the most suggested: place her favorite toy out of reach and she'll crawl for it. Allegedly.

So I placed her Lulu The Spider (coincidentally Matt's least favorite toy) and her plastic blocks (coincidentally Rosie's favorite toy) just out of reach during her tummy time. After a few unsuccessful reach and grab attempts, Lucy looked like she might just crawl----she sort of lurched but then she stopped. Instead she grabbed her toy phone, swung it at Lulu until she made contact and brought the beloved singing spider close enough to grab. Then she gave me a big ole grin, as if to say try again Mommy!

So she's not crawling, she is certainly a great problem-solver!
