Two of Lucy's top favorite things are animals and books. Our local library has a program called Paws to Read which is a combo of both! In this summer program, children read to service dogs in order to either get new service dogs accustomed to children or to entertain older, more accomplished dogs.
Lucy's assigned dog, Kick, is 13 (still considered a puppy if you compare her to our own Rosie) and will retire from active service duties next year. Lucy happily read two books to a happy, and occasionally napping Kick.
Lucy had a great time, and it seems Kick did as well!
